2025 was a year of innovation and collaboration for Naktuinbouw. As board members, we look back with pride on the steps we have taken together.
For example, the new collaboration model with 'Vermeerderingstuinen Nederland' and the Clean Fruit Plants Foundation, which is currently being developed. It brought us closer together and strengthens our shared ambitions for our Test Centre in Horst.
Together with the management, we reviewed our mission, vision, and core values. This was not just a formal step, but above all a moment of reflection. What do we stand for and where do we want to go? The updated Multi-Year Plan 2026-2030, which aligns with the mission and vision, gives us direction and confidence for the future. The signing of the new protocol on working agreements between the LVVN and Naktuinbouw was a significant moment. This protocol replaces the LNV-Naktuinbouw Information and Management Protocol from 2003. With this new document, we are continuing to build openness and collaboration together with the government. We amended our articles of association to further safeguard our independence and the public interest.
This year, the board considered the consequences of the phasing out of phytosanitary import inspections by the United Kingdom (UK). This is due to the impending deal between the EU and the UK. In May, they agreed on a 'reset' of the previously made Brexit agreements, particularly regarding Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) regulations. This was intended to reduce bureaucracy and streamline cross-border processes, with a focus on food, animal products, and plants. Together, we explored solutions and opportunities.
Mr. Klompenhouwer (successor to Mr. Neijenhof) and Mr. Stuurbrink (successor to Mr. Vollebregt) joined as new board members. They bring fresh energy and new insights to the board table.
Personally, I am grateful for the efforts of all the board members, colleagues, and partners. Thanks to your commitment and expertise, we are ready for tomorrow's challenges. On behalf of the board, I wish you enjoyable and inspiring reading of our 2025 annual report. Together we make a difference.
I hereby declare that Naktuinbouw is in control. In control, as defined in the LVVN Standards Framework for Financial Management and Internal Supervision.
