Under the Naktuinbouw Elite system you will be granted certification for tested propagating material produced in a pyramid system. If you wish to trade plant material with a Naktuinbouw Elite label you must comply with the standards of a prescribed, pyramid production process

The Naktuinbouw Elite certificate confirms the higher quality level of your products. This can apply to an entire lot, or to individual plants. The certificate offers a guarantee for growth and disease-free crops, which will give you increased production and higher profits.

Registered companies operate a quality assurance system that safeguards the propagation process. This means that Naktuinbouw Elite certified material represents added value and certainty in every respect for both propagators and buyers.

Naktuinbouw Elite currently extends to various soft fruit crops, namely strawberries (Fragaria), raspberries (Rubus), blackberries (Rubus) and blueberries (Vaccinium).

Regulations

The standards and conditions that Naktuinbouw Elite participants must comply with are described in the regulations (Dutch only). Participants must also comply with the Fragaria hygiene protocol (Dutch only). The stringent standards relate to the quality and health of the propagating material. Laboratory tests are often required to establish if all the criteria have been complied with. When certified material is assessed, particular attention is paid to varietal trueness, varietal purity, origin, health (free of viruses, fungi, bacteria or nematodes) and quality.

Procedure

In order to participate in Naktuinbouw Elite, companies must first sign an agreement with Naktuinbouw. If your company meets the standards and conditions you may trade propagating material or perform tissue culture activities within the framework of the Naktuinbouw Elite quality-plus system.
