The rules to register and market landraces, hobby market and conservation varieties differ from those for common varieties. These are, for example, old landraces that do not meet the conditions of uniformity or cultural value, or varieties that have been developed for cultivation under special circumstances (allotments for example). The financial turnover of this is sometimes so minor that the costs of the DUS test cannot be earned back.
