The team at Naktuinbouw is happy to share their specialist knowledge with the sectors. One of the ways we do this is by giving training courses. This knowledge is highly sought after, not only in the Netherlands, but also by international clients. In 2019 we organised a week of training courses in English that attracted a high number of participants. In 2023, we plan to organise another week of training sessions.

Peter van Enckevort works as the coordinator and lead auditor of International Systems at Naktuinbouw. He is also a trainer for several Naktuinbouw courses. He regularly visits laboratories, plant breeders, seed breeders and producers nationally and internationally. In recent years, Peter has noticed a growing need for training in the field of plant health inspections at companies. “These clients are companies active across all sectors. There are also participants in Naktuinbouw’s quality plus systems, such as NAL, ASLN, Elite and NAFI. Knowledge of plant hygiene and sampling is essential at every company." For this reason, Naktuinbouw has developed a proven training programme in English on these subjects.
Three training courses in one week
During the week of training in English, three courses are on offer: Company Hygiene, Plant Sampling and Seed Sampling. The first session took place in April 2019 and was attended by participants from Chile, Israel, Guatemala, Poland, Denmark and Germany. The course content focuses on daily practice. “Participants perform practical assignments and take exams at Naktuinbouw. This offers immense added value," says Peter. “The participants came from different continents. This diversity created an exceptional and positive group dynamic and resulted in valuable interaction between the participants."
A week of training in English, 17 - 21 April 2023
The week of training in English was rated very positively says training advisor Ellis Visser. Feedback received from participants in their assessments included: “Everything was explained clearly and in an easy way, practical to understand and remember.” “There was a lot of interaction; not only dry theoretical information.” And: “Eye opener and creates awareness”. Since the first training session, we have received many requests for a second series. So we have decided to organise a week of training again in 2023.
