Fees 2026

Publicationdate: 15 december 2025

We will be increasing our fees by 4 to 7% on January 1, 2026. This depends on the service or product you purchase from us. This indexation is necessary due to the increase in personnel and other costs. This is an inflation adjustment. This rate adjustment allows Naktuinbouw to continue operating at break-even. Also read in this message about the change in the rate structure for Testing & Analysis and the new method for invoicing DUS research costs when national and bilateral applications are withdrawn.

Change in Pricing Structure Testing & Analyses

We would like to inform you about a change in our rate structure that will take effect on January 1, 2026. This adjustment will make our invoicing clearer and more transparent, so you can see exactly what you are paying for.

Important: The 2026 fees and fee structure apply to all samples received from January 1, 2026 onwards, even if the registration was submitted in 2025.

What is changing?

The current rate will be split into two components:

  • Preparation Fee: for preparing the sample. This is a one-time charge per sample per technique. In the price list, you will find this under “Rate per sample.”
  • Testing Fee: for testing the pathogen. Each test performed has its own rate. In the price list, you will find this under “Rate per pathogen.”

From now on, your invoice will include an additional line for the preparation fee.

Combining multiple tests on a single sample

As of January 1, 2026, the combination codes will be discontinued. However, it will still be possible to test multiple pathogens on one sample, provided that:

  • The pathogens belong to the same group (e.g., bacteria, fungi, viruses, or nematodes)
  • The method is the same (e.g., ELISA, PCR, or culture method)
  • The required sample size is identical
  • The required sample material is identical

The price list clearly indicates which pathogens can be combined. For combinations, the preparation fee will be charged once per sample, plus the cost per pathogen.

If pathogens cannot be combined, multiple samples must be submitted. For each sample, the preparation fee and the cost per pathogen will apply again.

New procedure for invoicing DUS examination costs upon withdrawal of national and bilateral applications

From now on, the Board for Plant Varieties and Naktuinbouw will apply the same policy as the CPVO for invoicing DUS examination costs upon withdrawal of national and bilateral applications.
