Kennispodium October 30th 2025 - registration is now open!

Publicationdate: 13 oktober 2025

To divide is to multiply: how can DNA help accelerate or improve DUS testing, and thus the breeding processes?

Naktuinbouw is organising a knowledge platform (Kennispodium) on Thursday afternoon, October 30. Registration is now open.

The program: 1:30 PM: Walk-in with coffee/tea, Sotaweg 22 in Roelofarendsveen

2:00 PM: Program begins with an introduction by Jan Meiling, Director of Strategy & Development

We have invited the following speakers: Cécile Collonnier - Technical expert - Research & Innovation CPVO, Tosca Ferber - Chief Technology Officer Dümmen Orange, and Hedwich Teunissen - Managing Director CropXR (Utrecht University).

This afternoon, they will share their vision on the future of variety testing/identification using DNA.

Questions we will address:

  • What will the ideal balance between DNA and morphological research look like in the future?
  • What does this mean for European companies and the role of CPVO (Community Plant Variety Office)?
  • What benefits does sharing DNA knowledge and data offer for the efficiency, speed, and reliability of DUS testing?
  • What opportunities and challenges do NGTs (such as CRISPR) offer companies?
  • How do we ensure that this vision is widely supported within the sector?

Because we've invited international speakers, the entire afternoon will be held in English. International attendees are also very welcome! More information about the speakers and registration will be available on our website and social media channels soon.

We're looking forward meeting you Octber 30th at Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen.
