Quality audit

A quality audit is an administrative inspection designed to verify compliance with the agreements made between your company and Naktuinbouw. This inspection is performed as an annual audit at the main location of your company.

About the inspection

Our inspector performs a set number of inspections annually on crops with an obligatory plant passport requirement. We limit the number of inspections performed annually for crops only inspected by Naktuinbouw for quality to a minimum. A quality audit is used to determine whether this minimum is possible. The purpose of the quality audit is to limit visits to companies that have a well-regulated quality assurance system to a single, annual visit. If possible, the quality audit will be combined with a plant passport inspection. This reduces your costs.

A quality audit can be performed once your company demonstrates its compliance with a certain number of points. These points are outlined under the heading Procedure. You must be able to demonstrate compliance of these points with EU-directives, the Dutch Seeds and Planting Materials Act and the Naktuinbouw Inspection Regulations.

After you have registered with Naktuinbouw, one of our inspectors will visit your company annually to perform a quality audit. During this audit, the focus is on:

  • All the information known to Naktuinbouw
  • Company documents (such as delivery notes)
  • Tracking & tracing of the propagating material
  • Administrative records of crop inspections

The Naktuinbouw board establishes our inspection fees each year. The fees are subsequently approved by the Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. The costs are charged based on the cost-maker cost-bearer principle. The fees for inspection can be found here Rates/fees.
