Sharing is multiplying: how can DNA help accelerate or improve DUS testing, and thus the breeding processes?
Naktuinbouw is organizing a knowledge platform (Kennispodium) on Thursday afternoon, October 30. Save the date in your calendars. We start at 2:00 PM.
Various speakers, from scientists to industry experts, will share their vision on the future of variety testing/identification using DNA. Questions we will address this afternoon:
- What will the ideal balance between DNA and morphological research look like in the future?
- What does this mean for European companies and the role of CPVO (Community Plant Variety Office)?
- What benefits does sharing DNA knowledge and data offer for the efficiency, speed, and reliability of DUS testing?
- What opportunities and challenges do NGTs (such as CRISPR) offer companies?
- How do we ensure that this vision is widely supported within the sector?
