CPVO audit for re-accreditation

Publicationdate: 6 juli 2026

Identity & Variety Testing was recently audited by the Community Plant Variety Office. This audit focused on the re-accreditation of DUS testing and the extension to strawberry. This text explains what this means and outlines the next steps.

The audit confirms the high quality of the DUS testing and the organisation, as the assessment is positive. As a result, we are on track for re-accreditation and for extending the entrustment to strawberry. This marks an important step in the further development of our activities.

Auditors value the commitment and expertise of staff

The auditors expressed their appreciation, as they observed strong engagement and a high level of expertise among staff. This is reflected in their positive remarks on how the team performs the DUS testing.

Findings relate to documentation, not execution

The audit identified several findings, as the auditors noted areas for improvement in documentation. These do not affect how the DUS testing is carried out. We will actively address these points in the coming period.

Formal decision will follow later this year by the CPVO

The Administrative Council of the CPVO will take a decision later this year, as it reviews the advice of the audit team. This will determine whether the re-accreditation and extension are confirmed.

With this result, Naktuinbouw takes an important step forward, as the extension to strawberry creates new opportunities for breeders. We will continue to develop our services to support the sector effectively.
