As of December 1, PCR tests will replace ELISA tests for various floricultural crops

Publicationdate: 30 oktober 2026

From 1 December 2026, we will introduce the PCR test method to replace the ELISA for the crops in the families Asparagaceae, Betulaceae, Buxaceae, Cannaceae, Chenopodiaceae, Gentianaceae, Haemodoraceae, Hypericaceae, Marantaceae, Musaceae, Oleaceae, Paeoniaceae, Piperaceae and Polygalaceae.

Planning other families

At the moment we are still working on further planning per family. For the first 6 months, the schedule is as follows:

  • January 2027: Campanulaceae
  • February 2027: Ranunculaceae and Crassulaceae
  • March 2027: Balsaminaceae

As soon as there is a new schedule, we will communicate this in the newsletters.

A current schedule for each family and crop can also be found on the website.

Potyvirus we will continue to test with ELISA

The Potyvirus test remains an exception for the time being. This test covers a very large group of viruses. This makes the development of a PCR test very complex and takes longer. A separate sample is still required for the Potyvirus test.

Sample size and PCR rates

For our PCR tests we use three different sample sizes with corresponding rates:

  • Up to 2 leaves: € 11 per virus per sample
  • Maximum 10 leaves: € 22,80 per virus per sample
  • Maximum 25 leaves: € 59,70 per virus per sample

For some tests, we charge a different rate. This rate can be found in our price list. Please also refer to our price list 2026 for the base rates.
