Number of IF tests removed from protocol

News publication date: 23 September 2019

Naktuinbouw is gradually phasing out the immunofluorescence technique. This is because better alternatives are available or because double verification (IF and PCR) of suspected colonies from the dilution plating lating test is not always necessary (PCR is more sensitive and less laborious).

Verdachte kolonies

Since recently, the verification step using IF has no longer been used for three tests. Verification is now only done using a PCR test. This reduces the turnaround time and the test is cheaper if there are suspected colonies.

IF verification is no longer used for the following three tests
