Reference garden for perennial plants

The Moederplantentuin (Reference Garden for Perennial Plants) plays a vital role in the work on perennials. It was originally set up with funding by the Product Board for Horticulture and serves as an important source of reference in the trade of perennial plants.

Plantscope
The tests in the garden are carried out in cooperation with the Association of Perennial Growers. At the moment some 2,450 cultivars have been planted, 2,060 of which have been established as being true to variety. Click here to view the list of cultivars true to variety. All cultivars in the Moederplantentuin are described, photographed and published on the Internet database Plantscope (www.plantscope.nl). Already some 1,200 descriptions of cultivars that are true to variety are contained in the database.

Visits
The Moederplantentuin is located to the rear of Naktuinbouw’s offices in Roelofarendsveen. During the months of April and May, visitors may visit the garden every second Wednesday of the month from 13.00.
